Short and Sweet Productions has been the home of singer and guitarist Lil Miss Mel for over 10 years.* Starting out as a duo, through to the formation of a 5 piece band, the small and mighty Lil Miss Mel (AKA Melanie Sander Wilson) has performed with multiple musical outfits all over metropolitan Adelaide, and through much of South Australia including regional tours, in acoustic and electric incarnations. Short and Sweet Productions now showcase Lil Miss Mel as an emerging Cabaret Artist, launching the comedy cabaret “Crowded Blouse” to enthusiastic crowds for the 2022 Fringe. After a sell-out first season, the next stop was The Adelaide Cabaret Fringe. (See the 10/10 review by Steve Davis, The Adelaide Show on this site).

*and the rest …! Denial – so much more than a river in Egypt …

Lil Miss Mel (aka Melanie Sander Wilson) is a pint-sized performer of a variety of modern music, in many incarnations.  Over the years, she has graced stages large and small, performing in accapella ensembles, various rock bands, duos and trios, as well as solo singer/guitarist performances at intimate wine bars and cafés.

Adelaide audiences know her from pubs, clubs and the occasional wedding or private function, where she has sung everything from blues standards to funk.

“You simply must see this show! 10/10!” – The Adelaide Show Podcast

Hell bent on finding the true song of her soul, Lil Miss Mel has boldly journeyed from the light-up dance floors of tragic 80s disco to the dizzying heights of Adelaide’s classiest Bingo halls. And now, having Nutbushed, bopped and Bus-Stopped her way to semi-obscurity and middle age, she ponders the big questions: How do I become my most authentic self?
