The Evolution of Little Miss Mel
After years of singing and story-telling, theatre and a brief flirtation with stand-up comedy, Mel came to the realization she was … cabaret-curious. The intimacy, the warmth, the music, the stories … it was destiny!
With expert, nurturing tutorage from award-winning cabaret icons Amelia Ryan and Michael Griffiths, (Simply Brill), Mel set about creating her first show. Many drafts and workshops later, her cabaret alter-ego Little Miss Mel, and her first solo show Crowded Blouse, burst onto the scene in Fringe 2023. After sell-out seasons at The Jade, Crowded Blouse quickly became a Fringe favourite, with subsequent successful runs at Nexus Theatre, and Plant 4 Bowden.
Not content to sit on her 5-star laurels, in 2026 her second self-penned cabaret Vintage – Aged to Imperfection premiered at Wassail, to sold out crowds. Plans are afoot to bring Vintage to Fringe 2027 … stay tuned.
Crowded Blouse
Little Miss Mel’s hysterical voyage of self-discovery is as hilarious as it is heartfelt. From University to cover bands to ABBA tributes, the journey is perilous and poignant and will ultimately guide you to find the true song of your heart.
